About Class - 2 Digital Signature Certificate
Class-2 Certificates are issued as Managed Digital Certificates to employees/ partners/ affiliates/ customers of business and government organizations that are ready to assume the responsibility of verifying the accuracy of the information submitted by their employees/ partners/ affiliates/ customers.

The Process of issuance of Class-2 certificate involves an organization who is functioning as an RA or an organization for whom a Sub-CA has been set up. This organization requests the issue of Digital Certificates for employees/ partners/ affiliates/ customers of the organization from (LRA) DSC. In the case of a Class-2 Certificate, the verification of details supplied with the request for a Digital Certificate is done by these organizations under the (LRA) DSC trust network.

Class-2 Certificates issued under the (LRA) DSC Trust Network are legally valid under the Indian IT Act 2000.

Managed PKI Service
(LRA) DSC, through its Managed Registration Authority and their Reseller Service, offers a low-cost managed PKI solution for delivering Digital Certificates with minimal investment. It allows customers to provision and manage (LRA) DSC Certificates, and manage Registration Authority / Reseller tasks via an easy-to-use secure web-based interface.

The Managed RA is an independent entity that enters into a contract with (LRA) DSC to provision Digital Certificates to its employees/ partners/ affiliates/ customers. Responsibility of authenticating subscribers lies with the RA.

Subscribers requesting for Digital Certificates under the RA / Reseller solution are issued Class-2 Digital Certificate which is legally valid under the Indian IT Act 2000.
